Writing your Will
1. Speak to your family and loved ones
Including a gift in your Will is a personal decision but it can be helpful to tell your loved ones about what you’ve planned.
2. Decide what kind of gift to give
There are three main ways to include a gift in your Will to Hutt St Centre:
Residual
You can include a portion of your estate, or the balance remaining after loved ones and expenses are provided for.
Specific
You can include a specific sum of money.
Asset
You can include specific items of value such as shares or real estate.
3. Seek professional help
Whatever your circumstances, we recommend that you see a solicitor when writing or updating your Will to ensure your Will is validated and that your wishes will be fulfilled.
4. Writing your Will
To include your chosen gift to Hutt St Centre when you write your Will, provide your solicitor with the following wording:
“I, [insert name here], give to Hutt Street Centre of 258 Hutt Street Adelaide South Australia (ABN: 75 055 179 354) [insert type of gift], free of all duties and I direct that the receipt of the reputed Secretary Treasurer or other authorised officer for the time being of the said Hutt Street Centre shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the Executor(s) in respect of such bequest.”
