The journey to homefulness
Meet two of our valued team members here at Hutt St Centre – Andy and Doris!
An important part of the job for case managers like Andy is helping people find a safe and permanent home.
But as anyone who’s had to move house will tell you, it can be a HUGE undertaking!
“Moving day is always exciting but it can be overwhelming too,” says Andy.
“This is especially true for people who’ve experienced homelessness and are ready for a fresh start.”
That’s where Doris, our RAV4 generously provided by CMI Toyota, plays an important role! She ensures Andy and the team can deliver much-needed essentials to help people settle into their new homes.
“Helping people who are recently housed is a vital part of their journey towards homefulness.
Being able to support them with new linen and bedding, pots and pans, kitchen appliances and other household essentials is a practical way to make sure they have everything they need to feel at home.”
Doris is a hard and reliable worker, on the road every day, doing her miles to support people on their journey out of homelessness.
Together, we’re able to make a difference and go the extra mile thanks to people like you and our good friends at CMI Toyota. And a big thanks to the CMI Toyota team for supporting our Walk a Mile in My Boots Challenge too!
