Everything's better when we're together
In honour of the remarkable volunteers who give their all to support people experiencing homelessness, we gathered at Government House on Monday night for a very special celebration.
Guests were welcomed by Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia and Hutt St Centre’s Patron.
Her Excellency reflected on the immeasurable value of volunteering and shared personal highlights from her time spent helping in Hutt St Centre’s kitchen last year. She also presented awards to many of our longest-serving volunteers for their outstanding service to the South Australian community.
Our CEO, Chris Burns, addressed guests to acknowledge the life-changing impact volunteers have on the people who seek our help at Hutt St Centre.
“We rely on the generous support of the community to help people rebuild their lives – and there are few supporters more passionate than our volunteers,” he said.
“From helping in our kitchen, laundry and locker facilities to supporting our employment and education programs, volunteers are integral to the amazing outcomes we see every day.”
A huge thank you to the volunteers who could join us for this wonderful celebration of National Volunteer Week. We are grateful for everything you do to help people rebuild their lives.
A special thank you also to Her Excellency and Mr Bunten and the staff at Government House for graciously hosting us and supporting our vision to end homelessness.
