Thank You For Giving Hope and Help This Winter

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible generosity during our winter appeal. Your kindness, whether as a long-time supporter or a first-time donor, has made a significant difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness in South Australia.

Amid ongoing challenges of the rising cost of living and housing pressures, your support provides hope and much-needed help to people in our community who need it most.

Your contributions enable us to continue helping thousands of people each year, like Sam*, who was featured in our campaign. Thanks to you, Sam's story has a happy ending; he now has a loving family and a home of his own.

“The positivity, encouragement and guidance I got at Hutt St Centre literally changed my life."

Here’s a snapshot of your impact this winter. With your support, we were able to:

  • Keep our doors open for 10,400 visits.
  • Nourish hearts and bellies with more than 11,800 meals.
  • Offer comfort and dignity by providing 2,538 warm showers.
  • Renew health and hope by enabling 569 medical check-ups.
  • Restore a sense of dignity by delivering 821 loads of washing.
  • Give care and comfort by sharing 6,418 essential items such as blankets, warm clothing, and hygiene essentials.

*(May- July 2024)

Thank you for supporting our vital work and helping us give more than a warm welcome this winter. Together, we are building a future full of possibilities for people facing homelessness in South Australia.

PLEASE DONATE

*While some names and images have been changed for privacy, these stories are very real and reflect how important your generosity is for helping people make their steps out of homelessness.

Warmth in Every Stitch

22/08/2024

We were recently touched by a beautiful act of kindness from Brenda, a caring member of our community. With a lifelong love for knitting and crocheting, Brenda found solace in creating beanies, which also helped soothe her arthritic hands. Moved by her daughter's commitment to our cause, Brenda generously donated over fifty of her cosy, hand-knit beanies to provide comfort...

Your kindness helps overcome barriers to lifechanging support

22/08/2024

Without the security and safety of having a place to call home, many people face significant challenges in accessing government support to help them rebuild their lives.
